I'm a copy cat!

At least I will admit it! Megan wrote a totally cute post about what all Jeremiah was doing now on her blog. I love that she keeps everyone updated with all his new accomplishments! I thought it was a fantastic idea and I hope she doesnt mind me borrowing it from her :)

Ava is almost 16 months old. I cant believe it has been that long. It has flown by and now we can't even remember what it was like without her!

She has become quite the toddler. She is getting very quick on her feet! We go to the toddler park almost every night and she plays with all her little buddies.

Her favorite foods right now are tacos (which she holds all by herself) and mango (which you can find on the side of the road here) She also loves to drink everything out of a straw.

She says so many words. Mama, Dad, and Papa are the most common around here. Milk, Good, Please, and Up are close 2nds.

We have to lock her out of the bathroom when we take a shower or she will climb over the tub to get in with us...scary!

She has become a little beach baby. She loves the water and the sand. We go at least 3 times a week.

I am excited to announce that she IS teething now! She has 8 teeth and more coming in. We thought she would be toothless forever but she isnt!

Our favorite thing she has been doing lately is golfing. Chase took her to the putting green with him on fathers day and she did wonderful. She plays with her putter everyday and is pretty good at hitting her plastic golf balls with it. If anyone would like to contribute to her coming a golfing pro, she needs the pink driver that matches her putter at Sports Authority, just send it her way!

Papa Keith is coming to see us Thursday and we are so excited! I'm sure she will do all sorts of cute things for him.

Thanks Megan for the great blog idea and thanks Jeremiah for doing all sorts of fun stuff to write about. Ava can't wait to play with you in August!

Happy Memorial Day!!

So in a military family Memorial day is kinda a big deal! We have known a few people who have lost their lives fighting for us and the people that we didnt know personally, we feel much closer to them. The military is like on big happy family so there is something about Memorial Day that hits home a little different than it used to. We had a great day though. Ava helped her daddy wash the car. She was very good at putting soap on it, even after he washed it off! We played in the sprinkler in the back yard, which is Ava's FAVORITE!! At the park in Ala Moana they have a ceremony in honor of people who have passed on. Here in Hawaii, Memorial day is more about people in general and not just the military like I always thought it was. The ceremony is mostly in Hawaiian and we couldn't really understand the majority of it but it was really cool to see all traditions they have. At the end people put these little lanterns in the ocean with names or letters to people who have passed away. It was very sweet and sad. Im glad we took Ava to experience it even though she wasn't really sure what was going on. We had a very good day. Here are some pictures of the fun we had. Happy memorial day to all and thanks to all the brave men and women who lost their lives defending our freedom. You are very appreciated in this home!!

Ava loved washing the car with her dad. Well she really loved playing in the bucket of water.

Ava loves to play in her sprinkler on the back deck but the water leaking out of the hose was so much more fun today!

We had a picnic in the park. Ava's first real picnic. We will be doing this often now!! It was so much fun!

We watched the lantern floating ceremony. It was such a wonderful experience.

There are many many more pictures of our weekend on Facebook. Go HERE to see the rest of them.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!
